Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 1 pack of pre-made crescent roll dough (8 oz / 226 g)
Pecan Pie Filling
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup corn syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, chopped toasted pecans, melted butter, corn syrup or honey, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly until the filling is well combined and sticky.
- Unroll the Crescent Dough: Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate it into individual triangles as indicated on the package.
- Add the Filling: Place a spoonful of the pecan pie filling near the wide end of each crescent triangle, taking care not to overfill to avoid leaks during baking.
- Roll Up the Crescent Rolls: Begin rolling each triangle from the wide end toward the narrow tip, encasing the filling securely inside.
- Bake Until Golden: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the filled rolls on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the baked rolls to cool slightly so the filling can set, ensuring easier handling and enhanced flavor before serving.
Notes
- To toast pecans, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until fragrant.
- Use corn syrup for a traditional flavor or honey as a natural sweetener alternative.
- Do not overfill the crescent rolls to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
- Serve warm for best taste and texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat gently before serving.
