Description
This Refreshing Cucumber Lemonade is a perfect summer beverage combining the crisp coolness of cucumber with the tangy zest of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Naturally sweetened and served chilled, it offers a revitalizing and hydrating drink that’s both delicious and simple to make.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Lemonade:
- 1 large English cucumber, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5 to 6 lemons)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 cup ice cubes
For Garnish (optional):
- Lemon slices
- Cucumber slices
Instructions
- Blend the cucumber: Place the peeled and chopped cucumber into a blender. Blend on high speed until the cucumber becomes completely smooth, ensuring maximum juice extraction.
- Strain the puree: Pour the cucumber puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher. Use a spoon or spatula to press the puree, extracting as much liquid as possible while discarding the solids.
- Combine ingredients: Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar to the pitcher with cucumber juice. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved for a perfectly balanced sweetness.
- Add water and chill: Pour in the cold water and stir well to combine all the flavors. Add the ice cubes to the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes, allowing the lemonade to cool and flavors to meld.
- Serve and garnish: Serve the cucumber lemonade cold over glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lemon and cucumber slices if desired to add a decorative and fresh touch.
Notes
- To make a lighter version, reduce the sugar to 1/2 cup or substitute with honey or agave syrup according to your taste.
- For a fizzy twist, replace still water with sparkling water to give the lemonade a refreshing effervescence.
