Ingredients
Scale
Marinade
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 6 Tbsp BBQ sauce
- 6 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes
Chicken
- 4 to 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, chili powder, and red pepper flakes until well combined to create a flavorful marinade.
- Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a gallon-sized ziplock bag and pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal the bag tightly and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Grill the chicken: Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and discard the marinade. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for 12 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and juices run clear.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate the chicken for the full 4 hours, but a minimum of 2 hours is effective.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can cook the chicken on a stovetop grill pan or bake in the oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
- Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F for food safety.
